Akron, Oh – Coach Ketih Dambrot stated on the MAC Men’s basketball coaches weekly teleconference that Senior Forward Jeremiah Wood has a good chance to be back on the court for Saturday’s ESPN Bracketbuster match-up against VCU. Dambrot stated that if it were a “life or death situation”, Wood could be ready to play tomorrow night against Miami (OH).
Wood’s injury limited his playing time in the loss at Western Michigan on February 6th. He left early in the second half and did not return. Surgery was performed on Saturday, February 9th to repair a torn lateral meniscus. During his sophomore year, Jeremiah suffered a torn ACL on the same knee and missed the rest of the season and the next due to rehab. It was presumed that Wood would be out for the remainder of the season, but his hard work has led to a much faster than normal recovery.
